Are you tired of blogs that leave you feeling like you have to go out and spend a bajillion dollars on organizational systems or outfit your home with fancy, on-trend decor in order to be successful as a wife, mother, and homemaker?
Hey there! I’m Erin.
Most of my life I’ve been on the receiving end of complements applauding my mad organizational skills.
While it’s true that I’m a shameless color-coding, spreadsheet-loving woman, this obsession with organization hides a secret very few know: If I didn’t have a system in place to ensure I didn’t forget anything, I would forget everything.
It’s the truth. Because in reality, I’m a chronically disorganized, multi-passionate individual. Which is really just a fancy way of saying I’m forgetful and easily distracted.
Routines and checklists aren’t just my obsession, they’re bona fide tools for survival!
Now, I know it doesn’t get much better than color-coding and spreadsheets (I’m confident Tina Fey would agree), but there’s a lot more off-topic fun facts I could share about myself, like that one time in Texas when I drank wine with an elephant…

ABOUT HOPPING FENCES
After years of answering questions (and tolerating jokes) about color-coding, routines, command centers, and pet care, it finally dawned on me that a lot of moms want the same home and family management solutions for their household. The problem is, they’re treading water just to stay afloat and have no idea where to begin.
Here at Hopping Fences, I share simple yet effective systems and strategies to stay top of everyday life as a mom and a wife.
- Creating routines you can actually stick with.
- Effectively managing family schedules and calendars.
- Household cleaning and family chores.
- Processing school-related paperwork (there’s so much!) and activities.
- Meal planning.
- Finding time for self and spouse.
- Everyday pet care, including geriatric and special-needs animals. (“Pets are family,” is personal motto of mine.)
- AND LOTS MORE!
Basically, it’s my mission to help make your life easier.
I don’t have much interest in writing about DIY and home decor unless doing so has the potential to make your life easier.
